The article had a number of great points, including:

  • Without a strong process based program in IT,  it is very difficult to quantify how money is being spent.
  • Process improvement efforts often take a backseat when resources are scarce, sacrificing efficiency.
  • A top down push for blind adoption of any standard can lead to backlash.
