procedure writing

I understand how I can document my process visually but how do I build the procedure content for a block. Say I have a block that requires 5 steps to complete. How would you recommend doing that?

Would you not have a diagram for each step within each block? I'm currently mapping departmental processes when dealing with contracts so I'd have an overview map on which I'd put, for example, recieve contract -> Input contract -> Quality check contract -> Post customer pack. The more complicated steps of quality checking and posting a customer pack are digrams on the overview which you can then go into to see the full process. Is that the sort of thing you mean?

That makes sense I guess. I was not thinking of it that way but I gues I could break down each task into sub tasks with single step entries.

I will try that out.
